Technology community gathered at Porto Tech Hub
Alfândega do Porto hosted the Porto Tech Hub Conference. Dozens of companies and more than a thousand professionals from the sector were present throughout the day to share knowledge about the main trends and technological innovations of the present and the future.
Porto Tech Hub was a transformative event, that brought together industry leaders, innovators, and technology enthusiasts for a meaningful exchange of ideas and opportunities.
The event was attended by different speakers, such as Patrycja Wegrzynowicz, from Yon Labs and recently considered one of the Top 10 Women in Tech in Poland, Josh Long, from Pivotal, Stephen Chin, from JFrog, Mete Atamel, from Google, or Nicolai Parlog, from Oracle.
The city Councillor for the Economy, Employment, and Entrepreneurship, Ricardo Valente, attended the opening session, stressing the importance and role of technology in the city's growth and development. In pursuit, of promoting and developing Porto as a global technological hub, the technology sector has already created over 22,000 qualified jobs in the city. The 22,000 new qualified jobs since 2015 coincide with the creation of InvestPorto by the municipality.
"The city of Porto is now recognized as an important technological center in the European context. Its ability to attract companies, directly or indirectly, and to grow those that are already here, is unquestionable," said Ricardo Valente.
Programming, cloud and infrastructure, cybersecurity, modern web, and artificial intelligence are the themes that mark the eighth edition of Porto Tech Hub. The initiative includes 40 talks and 20 workshops.
The event was also attended by InvestPorto. Its presence at the Porto Tech Hub reinforced its mission to position Porto as a leading technology hub, stimulating progress and prosperity in the region.
