First SIM Conference takes place at Alfândega
Until last Saturday, Porto hosted the first edition of the SIM Conference (Startups & Investment Matching) at the Alfândega Congress Center, which was a transformative event for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Portugal. Organized by Startup Portugal, it has the support of the municipality as City Host.
The SIM
Conference seeks to foster connections between startups, entrepreneurs and
investors, providing a space for sharing knowledge and networking. Focused on
generating connection opportunities through carefully selected content, the
initiative showcases the best of the Portuguese ecosystem, discussing the most
pertinent topics for international founders and investors.
"A conference designed to connect entrepreneurs,
startups and national and international investors," said the City Council
for Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship at the opening session
"Focused
on generating connection opportunities through carefully selected content, SIM
is a unique experience for founders and investors to establish meaningful
connections," added Ricardo Valente.
The day
ended with a conference by Tim Ferriss, an investor and advisor to technology
giants. The closing ceremony this Saturday will be given by the Secretary of
State for the Economy, João Rui Ferreira.
