To discuss trends and the interconnection of Information and Communication Technologies with management and production methods, the 10th edition of the international conference CIOmove brought together, in Porto, the heads of several multinational companies.
The opening session, at Palácio da Bolsa, was attended by the Councillor for Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship.
Ricardo Valente kicked off the conversation between the founder and general director of xelerate.tech, Klaus Straub and Martin Zierheim, respectively, the IT directors of ISS World Services, Markus Sontheimer, Kuehne + Nagel, Martin Kolbe, and Saint-Gobain, Ursula Soritsch-Renier, and the chief technology officer of eDreams ODIGEO, Carsten Bernhard, about "Three ways to start nearshoring in Portugal".
The aim was to promote discussion and experience sharing among representatives of foreign companies that are already established in Portugal, allowing them to "explore the possibilities of nearshoring in a stable democracy with a thriving IT environment".
CIOmove takes place every year in a different location. While in Porto, participants had the opportunity to visit companies that have chosen the city to operate in, such as Kuehne + Nagel and eDreams ODIGEO, but also to get to know the University of Porto's Science and Technology Park (UPTEC).
