SÓLIDA opens a new office in Portugal
SÓLIDA takes another step in its international expansion and opens a new office in Porto.
Following the recent opening of offices in Italy earlier this year, SÓLIDA has taken a significant step forward in its European expansion by opening its own office in Porto, further consolidating its presence in the Portuguese country, where it has been involved in projects since 2011.
SÓLIDA has decided to strengthen its commitment to the
Portuguese market at a time of unprecedented growth. The Portuguese government
recently presented an update of its National Energy and Climate Plan 2023-2030
(PNEC), pledging to have 20.4 GW of photovoltaic capacity operational by 2030,
more than doubling from the 9 GW in the previous plan. This increase in
investment in renewable energy presents exceptional opportunities for companies
in the sector.
Commenting on the opening of the new office, Andrés Medina,
SÓLIDA's Business Development Director, said: "At SÓLIDA, we are aware of
the importance of local knowledge when it comes to providing engineering and
consultancy services; Portugal is a strategic market for us and this new
subsidiary will allow us to strengthen our positioning and expand the
capabilities of our local team in the country, where we already have around 4
GW of experience."
Andrés Medina also pointed out that SÓLIDA is currently
working on the largest project in the country, which reinforces its commitment
to the Portuguese market and its ability to take on large-scale projects.
The new office in Porto will also serve as a strategic base
for SÓLIDA's expansion into Portuguese-speaking African countries such as
Mozambique, Angola and Cape Verde. These countries have shown a growing
interest in developing renewable energy infrastructures, and SÓLIDA is already
closing the first contracts to bring its experience and know-how to these
regions.
With this new opening, the company now has 5 offices around
the world (Spain, Brazil, Chile, Italy and Portugal), and further openings are
not ruled out in the near future.
