Porto cybersecurity firm VisionWare joins EU’s digital development ecosystem
Porto Leading Investor VisionWare, a cybersecurity company, has joined the European Union’s Digital for Development Hub (D4D Hub), bringing a Portuguese cybersecurity specialist into the bloc’s international digital cooperation network and expanding its links to projects focused on Africa and Portuguese-speaking countries.
The D4D Hub brings together governments, businesses,
academia and civil society around digital development. Its agenda covers areas
ranging from digital government and connectivity to artificial intelligence,
cybersecurity, data protection and digital skills.
For VisionWare, the move is
particularly significant because of its long-standing presence in
Africa. The company has operated in Cabo Verde since 2007
and has developed experience in cybersecurity, privacy, risk intelligence and
digital capacity-building.
The company’s membership also
adds to Portugal’s presence in a European initiative that
increasingly links digital transformation with cybersecurity, data governance
and local skills. Portugal has been part of the D4D Hub since 2021, with the
Camões Institute responsible for coordinating the country’s participation.

traditional cybersecurity, including Security Operations Centres (SOC),
Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT), privacy and legal services,
ethics and compliance, and risk intelligence.

companies, the D4D Hub can provide access to partnerships,
institutional contacts and emerging digital programmes.
