UPTEC startup ends 2024 with three innovation awards
Seedsight has created and is developing a platform to analyze the quality of cereals and seeds.

Last November, tech start-up Seedsight was the winner of the Altice International Innovation Award 2024, the "Born from Knowledge Award” from the National Innovation Agency (ANI), and the Social Responsibility Award from Exame Informática.
Currently incubated at UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, Seedsight aims to create an online data library containing the digital signatures of various types of seeds and grains, validated through low-cost, large-scale biomolecular and biophysical analysis. The platform optimizes the identification of the best species, origins, and suppliers of seeds and grains at the most competitive prices, avoiding agri-food waste.
"These awards highlight the purpose of our mission: to promote innovation and generate value in agri-food systems, with a special focus on the cereal value chain,” said Gonçalo Ramos, Seedsight's Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Since being founded in 2023, Seedsight already received several awards and accolades, including its distinction as one of the 100 European startups of the moment by Techstars Deep Tech Berlin, the "2023 Women in AG Award”, awarded at Europe's largest agri-food technology fair, AGRITECHNICA, and its place in the Top 17 finalists for the ParticleX Urbantech Global Challenge 2024.
Looking forward, Seedsight wants to strengthen its presence in international markets: "the support received will play a crucial role in accelerating our internationalization strategy, allowing us to expand into new markets and consolidate strategic partnerships that boost the impact of our solution,” said Gonçalo Ramos.
