Porto-based startups SCEMAI and Savearth selected for German acceleration programme
The selection reinforces Porto’s growing presence in international innovation networks, with Germany as a strategic market.
SCEMAI and Savearth, two startups incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, have been selected for the Startup Welcome Package, an acceleration programme aimed at connecting international technology startups with the innovation ecosystem of the Stuttgart region, in Germany.
The programme selected 26 startups from different countries, giving them the opportunity to explore one of Europe’s leading industrial and technological hubs, with access to mentors, investors, companies and local innovation networks.
SCEMAI develops Sophia, an Intelligent Industrial Virtual Assistant that integrates and correlates real-time data from different sources, helping industrial companies improve operational efficiency, resource optimisation and decision-making.
Savearth has created a technology that allows hotels to measure water consumption in real time through intelligent analysis of shower sounds. The solution helps reduce water consumption and engage guests in more sustainable behaviours, without requiring construction work, plumbing changes or invasive sensors.
Both startups took part in the remote phase of the programme, focused on market insights, investment opportunities and regional trends. SCEMAI was also selected for the final phase, joining nine startups invited to travel to Stuttgart for a ten-day intensive programme with local stakeholders, innovation centres and potential partners.
The selection of SCEMAI and Savearth reinforces Porto’s position as a hub for technology-based innovation, with startups developing solutions for key challenges in industry, sustainability and resource efficiency.
