The University of Porto will open the first phase of applications for the Special Admission and Entry Scheme for International Students 2026/2027 on 2 January 2026. This scheme remains the main gateway for applicants without Portuguese or EU nationality wishing to pursue a full degree at the University.

For the upcoming academic year, U.Porto is making available 712 exclusive places for international students, distributed across 57 undergraduate and integrated master’s programmes, the highest number since the scheme was launched in 2014. Almost all degree programmes are included, with the exception of Drawing and Digital Health and Biomedical Innovation.

Among this year’s highlights is the debut of the Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, following the integration of the former School of Nursing into the University of Porto, with ten places reserved for international applicants. Another key development is the first fully English-taught edition of the Economics and Management degrees at the Faculty of Economics, alongside continued access to Medicine programmes at FMUP and ICBAS.

Engineering, Architecture, Psychology, Biology and Economics stand out among the courses with the highest number of available places, while the Faculties of Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Engineering lead in overall capacity. Through this initiative, the University of Porto reinforces its commitment to internationalisation, responding to the growing global demand for its academic programmes.
