Described as a "strategic partnership” that "ushers in a new era of growth and innovation for EZ4U and the Portuguese market,” the spin-off from the University of Porto recently announced its acquisition by LINK Mobility, the European leader in mobile communication and messaging services.

Founded in 2010 by Duarte Magalhães and Vasco Vinhas, former students of the Faculty of Economics (FEP) and the Faculty of Engineering (FEUP), respectively, EZ4U specializes in developing enterprise messaging solutions, including SMS, Whatsapp, email, IVR, chatbots, and more recently, RCS.

Through its cloud platform and provision of API and high-throughput channels, the company—which was incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of U.Porto until May of this year—enhances communications between businesses and their clients, with more than 3,500 active accounts across various sectors.

By joining LINK Mobility, the "range of services and products will be significantly expanded, providing clients and partners with an even richer and more diverse experience,” states the EZ4U press release. Additionally, the company will have the opportunity to leverage the expertise of the European "giant” as well as its resources to continue delivering innovative solutions to its clients.

LINK Mobility is a provider of mobile messaging and communication platform as a service (CPaaS) solutions, catering to corporate clients, SMEs, and government institutions. It offers a wide range of solutions and has over 50,000 active customer accounts worldwide, exchanging more than 17 billion messages per year.

Despite the acquisition, EZ4U will retain its entire team in this new phase, although management has been redirected. "Our clients and partners can expect not only the continuation of current services but also access to a broader range of innovative solutions,” the company’s leaders note, emphasizing that a smooth transition with no operational impact is a goal for all involved. The objective is to offer new solutions to clients and partners "with the support of a successful multinational team” in the medium term.
