The School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) and Porto Business School (PBS) have once again secured a place among Europe’s most prestigious business schools, reaching the 38th position in the Financial Times European Business Schools Ranking 2025. This result marks an improvement of one position from the previous year and reflects the combined performance of both schools across multiple ranking categories.

FEP’s contribution comes through its Master’s in Management (MiM), which was placed 62nd in the Masters in Management ranking. The programme continues to be recognised for its academic quality, strong employability outcomes, and close ties to the business sector, reinforcing its international reputation. According to Óscar Afonso, FEP’s Director, the recognition highlights the school’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and the success of its students.

Porto Business School was evaluated across four different Financial Times categories, strengthening its position among the top European institutions. The International MBA remains one of only two Portuguese MBAs included in the ranking, holding 39th place, while the Executive MBA rises four positions to 52nd. The school also achieved its best-ever results in executive education: 25th place in Executive Education - Open and 31st in Executive Education - Custom, where it was the only Portuguese institution to improve. Dean José Esteves emphasised that these results confirm PBS’s solid trajectory and its place among Portugal’s top three business schools, highlighting its international faculty, the strong career impact on alumni, and recent milestones such as the EMBA’s global debut and the Global Online MBA’s top-tier rankings.

The University of Porto, through FEP and PBS, continues to assert itself as a benchmark in the teaching of economics and management, combining academic tradition, pedagogical innovation and strong ties to the business world, thereby consolidating its leadership position in the European landscape.
