The Councilor for Economy, Employment, and Entrepreneurship, Ricardo Valente, representing the Municipality of Porto, and Startup Portugal signed a protocol establishing the SIM Conference – an event that brings together startups, investors, and leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem – in the city for the next three years (2025, 2026, and 2027).

The goal is to continue promoting the community of entrepreneurs and investors, both national and international, with an interest in Portugal, creating opportunities for networking, investment, promotion, and learning.

By hosting this international event, the Municipality aims to position the city as a national and international reference for entrepreneurship, aligning with the economic development strategy defined by the city council.

The second edition of the SIM Conference will take place on May 8 and 9 at the Alfândega Congress Center in Porto, with the first speakers already confirmed.

The event will feature neuroscientist Vivienne Ming, a specialist in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems with a positive impact on society; Ezequiel Abramzon, a senior executive at The Walt Disney Company for twenty years; Daniela Seixas, a doctor and founder of Tonic App; Max Pog, a renowned conference and podcast host; Diogo Mónica, founder and president of Anchorage Digital; André Campos, transformation officer at Sogrape; and Xavier Jameson, co-founder of the Portuguese startup Musiversal.

The first edition of the SIM Conference also took place in May this year. The Alfândega Congress Center hosted over two thousand participants, including more than 150 Portuguese and foreign investors, and around 400 startups.

The SIM Conference attracted a diverse group of participants to Porto beyond startups and investors, such as tech companies, students, entrepreneurs, incubators, universities, artists, and more. Similar participation is expected over the next three years.
