Porto ranked among the world’s best cities by Time Out
International recognition highlights the city’s quality of life and global appeal
Porto has been ranked among the top 20 best cities in the world in the latest global index published by Time Out, securing the 17th position among 50 urban destinations.
The ranking is based on insights from over 24,000 respondents across 150 cities, combined with evaluations from international experts in culture, urbanism and lifestyle. Key criteria include quality of life, cultural offer, gastronomy, urban environment and sense of community.
Porto stood out for its strong identity, authenticity and hospitality, as well as the overall experience it offers to both residents and visitors.
According to Hugo Beirão, the Councilor for Economy and Entrepreneurship at the Porto City Council, this recognition reflects the city’s growing attractiveness and the result of a consistent strategy focused on sustainable destination development, including better distribution of visitor flows and the creation of authentic urban experiences.
This distinction further strengthens Porto’s international positioning, reinforcing its status as a globally recognised urban destination for living, visiting and investing.
