New airline routes strengthen connectivity at Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport
International airlines are expanding operations at Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, adding new routes for 2025-2026. These connections further enhance Porto’s links through carriers such as Delta Air Lines, Smartwings and easyJet
Airlines have begun outlining their expansion strategies for Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, with several new routes planned for the 2025-2026 seasons. Delta Air Lines, Smartwings and easyJet are among the carriers investing in greater connectivity from northern Portugal.
Delta Air Lines revealed plans to strengthen transatlantic travel by launching a daily Porto-New York JFK service in May 2026. The route will be operated with a Boeing 767-300 aircraft configured with four cabin classes, and the airline anticipates strong demand for Porto within its global network.
Smartwings, the largest carrier in the Czech Republic, has initiated a new Porto-Prague connection with two weekly flights. The route forms part of the airline’s winter 2025-2026 expansion strategy and reinforces its presence across the Iberian Peninsula. Meanwhile, easyJet announced a new service linking Porto to São Vicente, in Cape Verde, beginning in March next year, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
These developments mark a significant step forward for Porto, reinforcing its position as a growing international hub. The expansion of routes not only boosts the region’s connectivity but also strengthens its appeal for tourism, business travel and global investment, further integrating the city into key transatlantic and European networks.
