Lufthansa resumes Porto route starting 18th May
Lufthansa will extend its operations to Porto starting 18th May. The German airliner will operate three weekly flights between Frankfurt and Porto.
Flight restrictions due to the current pandemic, namely passenger occupation are in place. The German Flagship Company flies with only 1/3 passengers per plane and preventive measures on board.
Information published by the international press confirms that the increase in Lufthansa's flight plan involves resuming operations in 34 destinations, including Porto, and the strengthening of aerial connections to Munich.
It is worth mentioning that Lufthansa strengthened its air service route to Porto in 2014 and two years later it established the LGSP - Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal, and hired 200 workers.
Lufthansa, which for several years has been providing a real airlift between Porto and its main hub (Frankfurt), started the Porto - Munich route in April 2017 with low-cost flights. Germanwings was rebranded to Eurowings and are owned by Lufthansa.
