Leading Investor Natixis in Portugal has been awarded the Great Place to Work® 2026 certification, recognising employees’ perceptions of their experience at the organisation and the working environment it provides. The recognition comes at a time of continued expansion for Natixis in Portugal, with around 3,300 professionals currently based in Porto and the company planning to reach around 4,000 employees nationwide by 2028.
The certification is based on
an anonymous employee survey assessing five dimensions of workplace trust: camaraderie,
respect, pride, credibility and fairness. Natixis in Portugal recorded
a 78% participation rate and achieved a Trust Index®
score of 76%.
The strongest results were
recorded in camaraderie, at 82%, respect, at 79%,
and pride, at 87%. Overall, 84% of employees consider
Natixis an excellent place to work, while 87% say they are
proud to tell others that they work for the organisation.
For Etienne Huret,
Chief Executive Officer of Natixis in Portugal, the certification
reflects the experience of the people who make up the organisation and provides
an incentive to continue developing its culture.
"This Great Place to Work
certification enables us to go further through a demanding and globally
recognised benchmark. I would like to thank all our employees for their
participation, because this recognition reflects the real experience of those
who are part of our organisation. It is also an incentive for us to continue
evolving, fostering an environment of trust, collaboration and development for
our teams.”
The recognition comes as
Natixis continues to expand its presence in Portugal. Established in Porto in
2017, the company’s competence centre has grown significantly beyond its
initial technology-focused operation and now supports a broader range of
activities for Groupe BPCE internationally.
According to Huret, the Porto
operation currently employs around 3,300 people and is
expected to move towards 3,500 employees, a level that the
company sees as close to the potential scale of the operation in the city.
The range of activities
carried out in Portugal has also expanded. In addition to technology, the
organisation now supports areas including banking middle and
back-office operations, risk, compliance and finance, providing
services to different businesses within the group.
The company has also started
to expand its presence beyond Porto. Natixis opened a new competence centre in Lisbon
this year and plans to reach 1,000 employees in the capital by the end
of 2028. The company expects to have around 300 people in Lisbon by
the end of 2026.
Recruitment is focused on a broad
range of profiles, including technology, banking operations, digital marketing,
data science and specialised risk functions. Natixis has also strengthened its
links with universities and its investment in early-career talent through
training programmes and internal academies.
The certification takes on
particular relevance as Natixis continues to increase its workforce and broaden
its activities in Portugal.
In a recent interview with
Portuguese business newspaper
ECO, Huret said the company currently has a
6.6%
employee turnover rate, which he considers low for a competence
centre. He linked employee retention to a combination of workplace culture,
career opportunities, training and remuneration.
Today, Natixis employs professionals from
46 nationalities in Portugal, with Porto at the centre of its international operation. As the company continues to grow in both Porto and Lisbon, the Great Place to Work® certification provides a benchmark for maintaining a strong employee experience while scaling its operations.
For InvestPorto, Natixis’ continued growth and this recognition further demonstrate Porto’s ability to attract international companies, skilled talent and high-value activities, strengthening the city’s position as a competitive destination for global business.
